Teen Driving Lessons in Sammamish, WA

1st Time Driving Academy will make sure your teen is prepared, confident, and ready for the Washington road test. Our state-approved teen driver education program meets the licensing requirements and gives students the real-world skills parents want.

Class format & size

Our classes typically average 10–15 students, which lets each teen receive individual attention while benefiting from group learning. We use vehicles equipped with a passenger-side brake for added safety and instructor control.

What the state requires and what we provide

Washington state requires teens to complete an approved driver’s education course to qualify for a license after turning 16. Our Teen Drive Course fulfills those requirements and goes beyond them

Full state driving course — $650.
Early-pay discount: First 10 students who pay in full receive $50 off. ($650 − $50 = $600.)
30-hour classroom instruction

Focused permit prep, rules of the road, and safe decision-making.

6 hours of behind-the-wheel driving practice

Structured lessons to build vehicle control and confidence.

1 hour observation

Supervised observation hour to satisfy state rules and reinforce learning.

What students learn

We focus on three practical areas so teens leave able to drive safely in real situations

Permit & DOL readiness
Clear guidance and practice for the written permit test.
Vehicle control & maneuvers
Parking, lane changes, turns, and controlled stops.
Defensive driving & hazard recognition
Scanning, spacing, roundabouts, highway merges, and decision-making on local Eastside roads.

Private teen driving lessons (extra practice)

Want extra practice before test day? We offer private lessons for additional one-on-one seat time

Private lessons are available only to current members or graduates of 1st Time Driving Academy.
Focused Driving Practice
These sessions are ideal for focused practice on trouble spots, additional highway time, or a final mock-test run.
